Legends of a lost era: Retro photos re-emerge of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's first ever inductees Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and James Brown as Class of prepares to be inducted
The infant years of Rock and Roll are often illustrated with the same iconic images - a crowd going wild for Elvis, Chuck Berry and his guitar, Buddy Holly's black-rimmed eyeglasses.
Now retro photographs of these rock legends have come to light in celebration of the first group of musicians who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was established in by Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, and its first class - inducted in - was packed with men who helped establish the music genre.
Along with Presley, Berry, and Holly were James Brown, Ray Charles, and Sam Cooke, the Everly Brothers, Little Richard, Fats Domino, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
