Russell Latapy is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on August 2, 1968 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Russell Nigel Latapy, CM, a Trinidadian former footballer, was born 2 August 1968. He played as an attacking midfielder and as a coach. He played for more than 20 years in a distinguished career that included eight years playing with three clubs, most notably Porto, and eleven seasons in Scotland representing four teams: Hibernian Rangers, Falkirk, and Rangers.
Latapy signed in summer 1996 with Boavista FC, his city-neighbors.

He scored twice against FC Dinamo Tbilisi on 29 October 1996 in a 5-0 win. Benfica (3-2).
Despite his contributions, Latapy was sacked from Hibernian early in 2001 after a night that began with him socialising with countryman and Manchester United player Dwight Yorke, and ended with him being charged by police for drunk driving.
